You Have Not

Happy Monday everyone! It is that time again, we are getting ready to start a new week. As we get ready to start our week I wanted to speak with you briefly and motivate you to have the best week possible.

Have you ever heard the expression "closed mouths don't get fed" or perhaps someone has simply told you, "You didn't ask." Well, either way you word it it's the unfiltered truth. Late last week I was really struggling with some things and I couldn't understand why it seemed as if I was stuck. Stuck on things that I kept trying and trying to make go my way to no avail.

Saturday was absolutely my breaking point. I spent most of the day inside praying and asking God, "How am I gonna get out of this place?" The answer was simple, "You have not because you ask not." It was in that moment that all of the dots connected for me. I've spent so much of my life trying to be so independent that I'd forgotten that we need help from others sometimes.

James 4:2 has since been ringing in my heart and soul, "You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask." This is so important because many of us get into the habit of doing everything ourselves and forget that we have to connect with others! We want all of these things but we don't want to give up our own way of doing things. We get into the habit of thinking we can figure everything out on our own or that others can't add any value to our situation.

My challenge to you this week is to simply ask for help when you need it. I want all of us to recondition our minds and detox from the idea that asking for help makes us weak and incompetent. We will never be successful if we hold on to all of our old habits and ways. It is scary to trust others with what you think you do not need help with. But what is even scarier is never reaching your full potential because you were too reluctant to take two steps over and get out of your own way.

You have not because you ask not. Ask, trust, and have faith. I pray that you all have an amazing week full of new opportunities and fresh minds. Be bold about this action of change! Love and blessings.
